Last week, our Founder, Callum Beaumont had the pleasure of joining Roberto Garcia, Diogo Arreda, Daniel Kleinman and Martin Fortuny on stage during #VentureWeekMiami.
The panel explored the evolving Blue Ocean Economy, digital adoption across the US maritime sector, and, of course, the ever-present conversation around artificial intelligence.
There is a tangible energy building in Miami and across North America around maritime technology. Innovation, investment, and collaboration are accelerating, with growing momentum behind digital transformation initiatives.
Interestingly, cruise, defense, and container operators appear to be progressing more rapidly in their digital journeys than some of the more traditional bulk and tanker segments.
The overall sentiment in the room was decidedly positive. However, one important question lingered beneath the surface:
If the technology already exists, why is adoption still slower than expected — particularly when the benefits include clearer decarbonisation pathways and more efficient operations?
This question continues to shape the broader industry dialogue, highlighting both the opportunity ahead and the work still to be done.
